Plotting large dataset in access | Bytes (1) 1 New Member

Hi,
I am trying to make an spacial plot ( scatter XY plot) with more than one serie using the pivot chart option but apparentl this is not possible.
A graph with multiple series is possible to do by using the Microsoft Graph, however, no more than 4000 points can be plotted. (My data set has more than 30000 points)
I would relly appreciate any help or trick.
Many thanks in advance
Frank

For graphing I often use the Excel control as that's easier to use.
As long as you don't have over 64.000 points (the max rows in excel), you could try to export the X Y data and create a graph in Excel.
When that does work you can use automation to fill the data from Access into a sheet of excel.

Plotting points to screen

If I'm wanting to plot points to the screen (nothing fancy at all for the moment), would you recommend PyGame, PyOpenGL or PIL? Like I said, it's nothing complicated, no flashing wotsits or 3d quad-linear vertexes with bi-linear real-time shading, just simple 'points' a few lines or circles and nothing more.
