Your character's level of fitness has no direct effect on carrying capacity in Project Zomboid. But you can get fitter by selecting the Fitness option in the Health menu to increase your strength attribute, which is the primary component that determines your carrying capacity.

For example, the gunshots heard, and the helicopter passing overhead are metagame events. Currently, however, the player can't find who fired the gun or where the helicopter went. The Project Zomboid helicopter is a world event that will occur once in every save, by default.
